Every Nova Scotia student town
Students rent all over the province: Halifax, Sydney, Antigonish, Wolfville, Truro, Yarmouth, Bridgewater and New Glasgow, plus the suburbs and rural areas around them. Halifax is the biggest and most expensive market. Small towns like Antigonish and Wolfville are built around one university, so rooms there go early.

CMHC's October 2025 Rental Market Survey puts the average 1-bedroom at $1,492 a month across Nova Scotia and $1,539 in Halifax. Yes. Roommate matching works across schools, so a Dal student can match with a NSCAD student, and an SMU student with a King's student. Use the Same school filter if you only want people from your own school.
Does SubSwap work outside Halifax?
Yes. Students at Acadia, StFX, CBU, Sainte-Anne and NSCC can sign up and search near their school. NSCC is listed under Halifax in the app, so if you study at another NSCC campus, change your search area to all of Nova Scotia. SubSwap is newer outside Halifax, so there may not be many listings near you yet. If you have a room to fill, post it.
