Where students live in Charlottetown
Almost every PEI student ends up in Charlottetown, or commuting into it. UPEI sits on University Avenue, and the Atlantic Veterinary College is on the same campus, so AVC students are fishing in the same housing pool. Your best bets close to campus are Sherwood and Spring Park. After that you've got Brighton, Parkdale, and downtown. What it costs
A one-bedroom apartment in Charlottetown averages about $1,066/month (CMHC, October 2025), which is one of the cheaper provincial-capital averages in Canada. The catch is vacancy, which has sat below 2% for years, so “affordable” and “actually available” aren't the same thing.
